UNIFORMS
Each participant will receive a Team Nunavut uniform. Participants should only be wearing their uniforms en-route to the games to show off Nunavut pride! Please do not wear your uniforms until the day you leave for the games. This will help ensure that these items remain in good condition for opening ceremonies.
TEAM NUNAVUT UNIFORM
All Team Nunavut participants will receive a Team uniform specific to the 2027 Canada Winter Games. Everyone will receive:
• Parka
• Shell Jacket
• Snow Pants
• Long Sleeve T-Shirt
• Crewneck
Uniforms remain the property of Team Nunavut until the completion of the Games. Trading pieces of the uniform is NOT allowed until:
Week 1- Last day of overall competition
Week 2 - Closinig Ceremonies
UNIFORM PICK-UP AND DISTRIBUTION
Team NU is still working on the UNiform Distribution PLan. Once this has been finalized we will communicate with all coaches, athletes and parents.
UNIFORM EXCHANGE
If a piece of clothing does not fit, athletes will have the opportunity to trade for a different size. Please note that extra uniform sizes are limited. The exchange process will be:
Step 1: Exchange with other athletes/coaches on your team or community.
Step 2: Each Coach must complete the online ‘Uniform Team Exchange. Team NU will accept one form per team.
Step 3: Exchanges will be made on February 26 for Week 1 participants and March 7 for Week 2 participants.
Please note that we cannot guarantee the sizing with exchnages. Team NU will do its best to accomodate all participants.
WEARING OF UNIFORMS
Team Nunavut uniforms are not to be worn at any time prior to your designated travel day.
When travelling from your home community to one of the travel hubs (Iqaluit, Rankin Inlet, or Yellowknife), athletes and participants are encouraged to wear their Team Nunavut parka. This helps reduce the need to pack an additional large jacket, as luggage space is limited.
Team Nunavut uniforms, including the parka or shell jacket, must be worn when travelling to Quebec City.
TSOs identify and develop Team Nunavut participants and:
• Select and train the athletes
• Select coaching staff and ensure eligibility requirements are met
• Provide competition uniforms
• Coordinate positional travel to and from the AWG charters
• Coordinate logistics with mission staff
PIN TRADING
Pin trading has been renowned as the ‘unofficial sport of the Canada Winter Games’. While competitive in nature, nothing seems to bring people together more than small little pins.
Team Nunavut has become known for their intricate puzzle piece pin sets that are highly collectible and this year will be no different.
Pin trading is not just for the athletes but also spectators, volunteers, and supporters of the games. There will e many volunteers helping out who will be seeking Team Nunavut pins. They will be eager to trade!
Each participant will receive their pins upon arrival in Whitehorse at their respective village accommodations.
WHAT TO PACK
Each participant attending Games is allowed to bring:
• 1 piece of checked baggage (up to 40lbs, 27 x 21 x 14 inches)
• 1 personal carry on item (backpack)
• Personal sport equipment (confirm equipment with your coach/manager)
You will receive luggage tags for checked personal luggage, sport equipment, and team equipment at the airport before departing. They will be colour coordinated to your village accommodation.
Make sure you have put on your 2027 CWG Luggage Tag before checking in your luggage!!
